What is Commissioned Art?

The idea for the painting “Seagrape Splendor” began from a request from one of Ann’s patrons. The patron was particularly fond of the large seagrape leaves that we have in the Florida Keys and loved the many colors of reds and greens that the plant developed. She asked Ann to do a painting using the Seagrapes red hues as a dominant factor. So Ann accepted this commission work, relating that the image would be developed after some research after which she began to create a design befitting the subject matter. Ann said, “It was a great challenge! I really became enmeshed it the desire to provide a variety of dark reds, blue reds, orange reds, pink reds as well as show the variety in the greens. The contrast of the shadows also gives the painting great dimension.” The patron was extremely happy with the result, exclaiming, “I Love It, I Love It, I Love It” It was so well thought of that Ann had a giclee print made from the painting. So many to this day are able to “Love It” too!

If you might be interested in “hiring” Ann’s talents, just contact her to discuss the possibilities. You might want to think about what you would like with regard to subject matter or it may be more important for you to consider the color scheme. In any event, a commissioned work provides Ann with a new challenge to her creativity. If you are interested in any of her work, or wish to commission her to do a painting for you, be sure to contact her through this web site or mail or phone. She’ll be happy to discuss it with you!
